Cindy Lou’s turn! Beagle for adoption

Since Tiny Tim has found his forever home, I think it is time to start talking up our new foster!  Her name is Cindy Lou and, with the exception of our boy Sam (crossed Rainbow Bridge in November 2010), she is just about the sweetest beagle girl ever.  Almost as sweet as Vera…  Anyway, she is available for adoption.  Read more on www.brewbeagles.org

Cutie-pie – Tiny Tim ready for adoption!

My husband and I have been Foster parents for many beagles over the years, mostly with BREW Beagles, but also Beagles to the Rescue.  We took a brief hiatus from our status as fosters when we moved from Hampton Roads to the Fredericksburg area. As of yesterday, we are back in the saddle!  Welcome Tiny Tim to our family – regardless of how brief!  Looking for a forever friend?  Tiny Tim is looking for a forever home… perhaps he is a good match for you (he is the red and white beagle to the right in the last frame)!  Contact BREW!

April is just around the corner

Hi all,  one thing I promised myself I would never do again was taxes!  But that means I have to wait until I gather all necessary documents and send to preparer and hear back until I know if I owe or am owed.  I find the waiting hard!  Not that this will be a perfect solution, but I came across the turbotax website and thought you would like to try this tax calculator too!  All I can say is… I hope it is right!  The refund looked good to me!  :)

Energy Star for Existing Homes?

On November 9th, Vice Preident Biden announced the new Department of Energy’s Home Energy Score Program.  The program lets homeowners compare the energy consumption of their homes to other homes in the region. Information on the energy performance of the home is collected and the score of 1 to 10, 10 being excellent, is applied..
The homeowner would receive tips for energy improvements, cost savings estimates, and a Home Energy Score label.   Shannon Baker-Branstetter, policy counsel for Consumers Union, said, “This program has great potential to provide consumers simple, standardized information about the energy consumption of our homes and how we can make cost-effective improvements. Our hope is that consumers can save some money while they use less energy. This could really help take same of the guesswork out of making energy-efficient upgrades to our homes.” Home Energy Score is currently a pilot program in ten areas across the U.S. More information about the program is available at  www.homeenergyscore.gov.

Fredericksburg Housing Market Improving, Part 2

I posted a few days ago about the Fredericksburg area housing market improving, using CANNON RIDGE in Fredericksbug area of Stafford county as an example. Since I already talked about this neighborhood of colonial homes in a great location I don’t need to do that again, but…

Importantly, as a followup, MRIS, the multiple list service here in the area, released

Home in Cannon Ridge, Fredericksburg

Home in Cannon Ridge, Fredericksburg

market statistics for the Washington region on 27 of April. I want to share the following bullets from MRIS with you!:

  • An increase in sales volume by more than 9 percent in the first quarter of 2010 over the same time a year ago.
  • Sales prices  posting gains in each of the first three months of the year, with prices in March 2010 increasing 3.3 percent over March 2009, and expected to continue gaining traction throughout 2010.
  • An average of 71 days on market, a decline from an average of 110 days one year earlier, and the lowest time on market since 2006.
  • The metro area containing 5.7 months worth of inventory, which is below the normal, healthy ratio of inventory to sales of 6 months, signaling that demand is beginning to outpace supply.

If you have been on the fence about buying a home or selling, things are looking good for you… the time is now!   Contact me for more information or look for more market data on my website.
